Three wins for BMA Clondalkin at Way of the Warrior fight night

BMA Clondalkin enjoyed a successful Saturday night at “The Way of the Warrior” fight night, with four fighters representing the Clondalkin club and securing three victories at Kilnamanagh Recreation Centre.

Hosted by local club, Ljay’s Martial Arts, the event saw Clondalkin's Robert Dryja, Louise Shortt, Ben Reid and Donnie Caren compete, with Caren rounding off the evening with victory in the main event.

Dryja contested a nail-biting point fighting bout against Tristan Quinn of Collooney Martial Arts. In a closely fought encounter, he narrowly missed out by just a single point.

Shortt delivered a strong performance against Global Kickboxing’s Daisy Gray in their light contact contest, earning a unanimous decision and putting BMA Clondalkin among the winners.

Reid continued the club’s success with an impressive victory over Arthur Zaimaisz, also of Global Kickboxing, in their kick light bout.

The main event featured Clondalkin’s Donnie Caren against David Nana of Naas Kickboxing & Fitness. Caren proved too strong on the night, securing a unanimous decision to complete a successful evening for the local club.

With three wins and a one-point defeat, the four fighters gave BMA Clondalkin plenty to celebrate, representing the club strongly across the night’s contests.

Senior coach Robert Barrett said: “We’re proud of all four fighters. Each of them stepped up and represented BMA Clondalkin with determination. Three wins and a one-point defeat is a strong result, and it’s encouraging to see the work being done in training showing in competition.”

Head coach Ilija Salerno added: “I’ve been very impressed with Robert's progress as a coach. His commitment to the fighters and their development is clear, and it’s rewarding to see him grow in confidence and bring out the best in the team. Saturday’s performances were a credit to the fighters and the work he is putting in.”
