Derwin Impresses with Strong Comeback Victory at TMA Fight Show

Local kickboxing talent Cayden Derwin delivered an outstanding performance at the TMA Fight Show on Saturday, March 21st, held at Kilnamagh Recreational Centre, securing a unanimous decision victory over Craig Evans of Eagle Martial Arts.

Competing in a -71kg K1 bout contested over three rounds of two minutes each, Derwin showed resilience and composure throughout the contest.

The opening round saw a slow start from the young fighter, with Evans edging ahead on all three judges’ scorecards. However, Derwin responded impressively in round two, increasing the pace and taking control of the fight. Sharp knee strikes combined with long-range one-two combinations allowed him to turn the tide, finishing the round ahead on all judges’ cards.

Carrying that momentum into the third and final round, Derwin maintained his dominance, continuing to dictate the tempo and land the cleaner, more effective shots.

At the final bell, it was a clear unanimous decision victory for Derwin, capping off a strong performance.

“Great performance, especially after just being back from the Italy World Cup,” said his head coach, Ilija Salerno.
