BMA Clondalkin Athletes Set for World Kickboxing Championships in Abu Dhabi

Bushido Martial Arts (BMA) Clondalkin is once again making headlines on the international stage, as three of its standout athletes have been selected to represent Team Ireland at the upcoming WAKO World Senior & Masters Kickboxing Championships, taking place from November 22nd to 30th in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

This year’s event marks the largest World Championships in WAKO history, with over 1,600 athletes from 70 nations and more than 1,800 competition entries across all kickboxing disciplines — a truly global showcase of the sport’s finest talent.

Representing BMA Clondalkin and proudly wearing the Irish colours will be:

Kym Fitzgerald – competing in the Ladies Senior -50kg Kick Light division

Ciara Douglas – contesting the Ladies Masters -55kg Point Fighting category

Jen Molloy – taking part in the Ladies Masters +65kg Point Fighting division

All three athletes have been in intense preparation since their selection to the Irish National Team was confirmed in April. Over the past month, they’ve completed a demanding pre-championship training camp under the guidance of Coach Rob, who commented:

“They are more than ready — both mentally and physically. The work ethic and commitment they’ve shown have been phenomenal.”

Head Coach Ilija Salerno expressed his pride in the team’s achievement:

“We have a long-standing tradition of fielding athletes on both the junior and senior national teams, and it’s always a huge honour. Kym, Ciara, and Jen will represent not only our club but also the Clondalkin community and Ireland as a whole with pride and determination.”

BMA Clondalkin continues to be a driving force for martial arts excellence in the community, fostering athletes from grassroots level all the way to the world stage.
